About Us

The PROJECT HALO FOUNDATION was recently established to provide the fire, climate change, and environmental communities with a new tool: deploying and operating a "FIRE ALARM" from space. Our goal is to send the latitude and longitude of small fires to the nearest first responders and other relevant agencies as within 30 seconds, recognizing the critical importance of the "last mile" in emergency response.

We are a collective of engineers, scientists, and leaders who have supported the Department of Defense (DOD) and other agencies. our founding team has over 100 years of direct experience, including the lead engineers on the CHIRP program, and our team is well-versed in the latest government and commercial programs and companies. We possess extensive knowledge and understanding of every government satellite system and its capabilities. Additionally, our advisors have successfully established the implementation of commercial satellites to support government missions.

In our view, there is not a more urgent earth observation void in the US/World governments than providing solution tools for wildfires. To date we have treated wildfires as an "inconvenience". What if a foreign land inflicted $20-200+ Billion dollars of devastation to our country as wildfires do every year? Would our country have a different response?

By being an autonomous registered 501(c)(3) organization, PROJECT HALO can operate free of government intrusions and not be reliant upon public funding. Current approaches by philanthropic foundations are commendable in their efforts to address fire-related issues. However, their plans involve deploying hundreds of satellites and tackling complex data transfer and reporting challenges. In contrast, by the time they manage to present a limited demo, we could already be operational, assisting in saving lives and protecting the environment. We invite these foundations to consider refocusing their efforts and joining our solution.
